The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) is the largest organization in the Washington metro area working to solve hunger, chronic undernutrition, heart disease and obesity. With 444 community organizations in Washington D.C, Maryland and Virginia, CAFB helps nearly 540,000 people each year get access to healthy food.
The Heery International Foundation (HIF) is a proud partner of CAFB and recently granted the organization $2,500 to further its mission of solving hunger in the Washington metro area. Lavette Sims, CAFB’s Head of MD Partnerships, visited CBRE | Heery’s Landover office to accept the donation on behalf of CAFB.
“Thank you for selecting the Capital Area Food Bank as one of HIF’s “charities of choice” for 2017. Your generosity will provide 6,250 meals which helps us get to the 35 million meals that we provide each year to those in need.” - Lavette Sims, CAFB Head of MD Partnerships
