Georgia Tech's $4.5 million locker room renovation project is in full swing. CBRE | Heery’s nationally recognized sports design group is leading the project, designing the space into an innovative, branded environment that will meet the needs of the Yellow Jackets’ winning football program.
Located underneath the north stands of Bobby Dodd Stadium, the space will enhance the student-athlete and gameday experience while benefitting the program’s recruitment efforts.
The modernized dressing area will include visual displays throughout, including a “gear wall” featuring Georgia Tech’s new Adidas apparel and equipment. The state-of-the-art team home will also include an enhanced audio-visual system, a hydration station with a variety of Georgia Tech Athletics’ official protein drink—Powerade and Core Power, and a hydrotherapy area ideal for rehabilitation and recovery. Upgrades are being made to the locker’s existing steam room, showers and restrooms.
Heery Sports, the project architect, has an extensive portfolio, designing more than 280 sports projects within the last 54 years. Most recently, the sports group designed the new Georgia State Stadium and its 6,500 square foot locker room, one of college football’s largest. The firm was also the designer for the University of Arizona Lowell-Stevens Football Complex, West Virginia University Puskar Athletic Center, and the award-winning University of Texas DKR Memorial Stadium.
The project is scheduled for completion before the Yellow Jackets' preseason camp in August.
