Doylestown Health has delivered high quality care to its community for over 90 years. The hospital provides an array of healthcare services that reflects the care patients need and expect. In order for Doylestown Health continue to meet the challenges of the changing healthcare market, a new strategy was needed for ambulatory care services for on-campus and off-site locations.
Heery Design worked with Doylestown Hospital to develop a long-range Master Plan for both the main hospital and ambulatory sites. The Master Plan established the necessary organizing framework to accommodate and bring to fruition Doylestown’s strategic, clinical and operational goals. The project addressed issues such as functional relationships, efficiency, access and wayfinding, right-sizing and image.
The Master Plan also proposed a new, convenient access corridor from the existing parking garage to the main lobby atrium. This connecting corridor creates a new front door to the hospital, addressing issues of image, access and wayfinding. This project will reorganize ambulatory access to the hospital and create opportunities for new clinical space conveniently connected to the parking garage and lobby registration areas. The project also identified the need for a new ambulatory care center on campus to off-load outpatient volume from the main hospital.
