ENR Mountain States 2018 Best Project Award of Merit: Vail Health West Wing Expansion and Renovation

The Steadman Clinic’s experience and research have led to significant advances in the fields of orthopedics and sports medicine. The clinic treats patients from all walks of life, including recreational and professional athletes from all over the world. The Ambulatory Surgery Center is owned and operated as a joint venture between Vail Health Hospital and its physicians.

Vail Health’s new Steadman Clinic and Steadman-Phillippon Research Institute was part of the hospital’s ambitious vision to redevelop its medical campus in Vail, Colorado. The expansion and renovation to the hospital’s west wing included upgrades to five levels of the facility and added 25,000 square feet of clinical, rehabilitation and research labs. The project was awarded the 2018 Best Project Award of Merit from ENR Mountain States.

The annual competition in the Mountain States featured more than 120 entries, the highest number of submissions ever. Projects were judged on design and construction quality, contribution to the community and the industry and how they overcame unusual challenges through teamwork and innovation.
