Faubion School Groundbreaking

On April 7, Faubion School and Concordia University celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Faubion school building. The school will serve as the new home for the pre-K through 8th grade Faubion School and Concordia University’s education program.

In 2012, Portland voters approved a $482 million school bond. Heery's Portland team is the construction program manager of the building improvement program and supports the District in overseeing the full modernization and renovation of three high schools, the replacement of a Pre-K-8 grade school and additional projects that will address seismic, roofing and accessibility issues.

The new, $48.8 Faubion School will strengthen the eight-year partnership between Concordia’s School of Teaching and Faubion’s teachers and students. The partnership dates back to 2007, where Concordia students have been reading to students, tutoring them in math in science and serving as mentors as part of the University’s 3 to PhD program. The 138,827 SF school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2017.
