The Heery Miami office won “Most Elegant” in the 2016 Design Mix event. The theme this year was “Miami Vice”, they took their inspiration from seized contraband. Working with Predere Office Products and Kimball Office, they tapped into the shipping component of their businesses, creating an outfit of packaging materials – burlap, bubble wrap, corrugated cardboard, shrink wrap and sisal twine.

While their truly elegant model strutted to “Smuggler’s Blues”, the question was “is she a narc or a mule?” Coming down on the side of the law, she flashed her badge at the crowd as she exited.

This was the 15^th year for this fashion show produced by the local IIDA Chapter, and the 9^th win for our Heery designers. This year their participation went further: Carla Noriega, one of our Heery designers, modeled for another furniture sponsor team. Flamingos are iconic birds in Miami; and Carla a ballerina, as well as a designer, performed a classical ballet piece with Spanish/flamenco influences in a costume made of panel fabric, plastic laminate and medal hardware.
