The final structural steel beam was signed by project team members and put into place atop the new building along with a U.S. flag and the customary evergreen tree.

Representatives from the U.S. General Services Administration, CBRE | Heery, Brassfield & Gorrie, fs3 | Hodges, Jenkins Peer Architects and others were on hand for the builders rite which recognizes the accomplishment of reaching the highest point of construction and bids good luck to the workers and future occupants.

In September workers begin the process of connecting precast concrete panels to form the exterior of the new Courthouse Annex which is scheduled to be completed in spring 2021. The renovation of the existing Jonas Federal Building will be completed in fall 2022. The total project cost for the combined Courthouse Annex and Jonas Federal Building renovation is approximately $164 million.
