Fort Bragg, the largest military base in the world, added a new Special Operations Facility Expand Training Compound. The proposed development at the Miller Training Complex site is intended to be a permanent solution for the Special Operations Forces administrative and training needs at Miller Training Complex. It is the Army’s objective that these buildings will have a 25-year useful life before requiring any major renovation, repair or replacement and an overall 50-year useful life of the building.
Design-build and engineering services, as well as site preparation were performed by Heery for the new 55,000 SF training facility. The Compound is an administrative, classroom and ready building located in Miller Training Complex on Range 37 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The two-story facility includes several Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), administrative areas, classrooms, work areas and a ready state module complete with planning, sleeping and laundry spaces for 72 students. The project also includes the creation of supporting facilities such as access roads, parking, sidewalks, sewer lines and expansion of existing mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems.
The project site is an approximately 65-acre tract of mostly wooded land of which approximately 12 acres will be utilized for the redevelopment and consists of previously disturbed land.
