Mentor required commissioning services for data center sites in Shannon, Ireland and Wilsonville, Oregon. The 15,000 SF Shannon, Ireland facility was a new construction project to erect and equip a new data center on a lot adjacent to an existing building, and the 30,000 SF Wilsonville facility involved constructing a new data center on the existing campus after demolition of the existing shipping and receiving building.
Turner & Townsend Heery was selected to provide commissioning services for the complex data center HVAC systems; indirect evaporative cooling; ‘opengate’ air containment; plumbing systems; office area HVAC systems; general exhaust systems; building automation systems, including systems integration; electrical systems; lighting systems, including lighting controls; a fire alarm system; and life-safety systems. Commissioning services covered pre-design through operational acceptance testing tasks in both imperial and metric systems at the two sites.
The two projects were highly successful in operational delivery of working data centers allowing Mentor IT staff to be frontline operational before their planned “Go Live” date.
