Western Kentucky University LT Smith Stadium

Heery was selected to develop an integrated design for WKU Smith Stadium. The project included renovation and expansion work of team facilities, fan seating and amenities, as well as functional and operational upgrades that assisted in the move to Division 1-A.

The West Grandstand and Athletic Performance Center includes 146,500 SF of new construction that includes seating for 3,632, with covered fixed seating on four floors. The second floor includes player development and team facilities, coaches’ offices, meeting space, athletic training and hydro-therapy. A hall of fame lobby also spans the first two floors. A new concourse area with concessions and toilets and a souvenir shop is on the third floor. The fourth floor comprises a club facility with 782 exterior seats and functions as a gameday facility and a facility that can be used by other University interests as an event space with a full kitchen.
