Washington Adventist Hospital

In late 2015, Maryland HealthCare Commission approved the Certificate of Need (CON) application to relocate Washington Adventist Hospital to the White Oak area of Montgomery County. The new hospital is part of a longstanding plan to expand access to care in the region, which includes keeping several key healthcare services at the current Takoma Park campus.

Turner & Townsend Heery is providing project management services for Adventist HealthCare’s (AHC) new 440,000 SF hospital. A highly competition Montgomery County, Maryland healthcare market environment led AHC to initiate a modernization plan, featuring the replacement of their aging Washington Adventist Hospital (WAH) with a new medical campus in White Oak, MD.

The program will be conducted in two mean phases plus an activation phase. Phase I involves the clearing of the site installation of site utilities. Phase II will include all foundation, core, shell, interior, commissioning and FF&E work. Construction of the new hospital began in early 2016. Turner & Townsend Heery is providing project management services throughout the hospital’s construction. The new campus is projected to be open by summer 2019.
